How Southern California Stove & Oven Pickup Requests Work
1. Send Fuel Type & Working Condition
Tell us gas, electric, induction or dual-fuel, which functions work, the exact address and clear photos.
2. Review Disconnection, Access & Route
Freestanding vs. built-in installation, safe disconnection status, stairs, cabinet clearance and independent-provider availability are reviewed.
3. Confirm Pickup Details
If the appliance qualifies and a local route can accept it, timing, access and final preparation details are confirmed before pickup.
Southern California Stove, Range & Oven Pickup Review
Send fuel type, tested burner and oven functions, clear photos, exact city or ZIP code and removal access. Working gas and electric cooking appliances receive strong priority.
Free pickup is qualification-based. Working and reusable appliances receive priority. A single completely nonworking appliance generally does not qualify; eligible mixed loads may qualify when approximately 80% of the major appliances work.
Cooking Appliances We Review
Freestanding ranges
Gas and electric freestanding ranges are common requests. Report burner, oven, display and control operation.
Slide-in ranges
Include width, countertop clearance and whether the unit is already safely disconnected.
Wall ovens
Built-in wall ovens need cabinet dimensions, installation details and safe disconnection before removal can be reviewed.
Cooktops & premium ranges
Gas/electric cooktops and premium ranges can be submitted, but fuel connection, weight and access can affect acceptance.
Common Brands & Model Information
Brand and configuration details help identify fuel type, size and whether a unit is freestanding, slide-in or built-in. They do not guarantee qualification.
Brand alone does not determine qualification. A clear model-label photo can help confirm size, configuration and age when available. Common household brands may include GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Samsung, LG, KitchenAid, Bosch, Viking, plus other major brands.

Before Pickup: Prepare a Stove, Range or Oven
Test Functions When Safe
Before disconnection, report whether burners, oven functions, controls and displays work. Do not operate an appliance that smells of gas or appears unsafe.
Confirm Fuel Type
State gas, electric, induction or dual-fuel. Do not assume gas or hardwired electrical disconnection is included; use a qualified person when required.
Built-In vs. Freestanding
Wall ovens, cooktops and built-in units need cabinet and installation details. Freestanding and slide-in ranges should be described with width and removal clearance.
Clear Loose Parts & Path
Secure or remove loose racks and accessories after pickup is confirmed, and describe stairs, kitchen islands, narrow turns, gates and loading access.
After pickup: working cooking appliances may be routed toward reuse or repair where practical; non-reusable units can be directed toward an appropriate recycling or disposal option.
Access Details That Affect Pickup
Cooking appliances may involve gas lines, hardwired electrical connections, cabinet cutouts or anti-tip hardware. Do not assume disconnection is included. State clearly whether the unit is already safely disconnected and accessible.
Garage or driveway
Tell us whether a pickup vehicle can approach the appliance, whether a gate or slope is involved, and the carrying distance.
Interior, apartment or condo
Include floor level, stairs or elevator, doorway clearance, hallway turns, HOA or building rules and parking/loading restrictions.
Photos first
Send a full appliance photo, condition details and the removal path when access is tight. Accurate photos reduce failed trips and speed up review.
If the Appliance Does Not Qualify
Use the local city or county page for the actual pickup address. Many of those pages link to official bulky-item, waste-hauler or recycling alternatives. You can also compare options in the old appliance disposal and recycling guide.
