Seattle–Tacoma–Olympia Puget Sound Requests
This is the indexable regional owner for the core Puget Sound corridor. We review qualifying requests from Snohomish County through Seattle and the Eastside, south through King County and Pierce County, and into Thurston County. Puget Sound is currently handled as a partner-coverage market rather than a guaranteed direct branch in every city, so one strong regional resource keeps the request process accurate without publishing near-duplicate city pages.
Pickup depends on appliance condition, exact ZIP code, access, local reuse demand and an available pickup partner. Listing a community does not guarantee free pickup. The Washington intake line and request form begin the review; an appointment exists only after a qualifying request is directly accepted and confirmed.
High-Value Puget Sound Coverage Corridor
For route review, send the exact city or Seattle neighborhood rather than only “Seattle area.” The strongest reusable-appliance opportunities are spread across several distinct submarkets, and access conditions can change quickly from one area to the next.
North Sound & North Seattle
Lynnwood, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, Bothell, Mill Creek, Mukilteo and Everett. In North Seattle, include Northgate, Greenwood, Crown Hill, Broadview, Bitter Lake, Lake City and nearby neighborhoods.
Seattle Core & North-Central Neighborhoods
Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Green Lake, Wallingford, Fremont, Queen Anne, Magnolia, University District, Ravenna, Wedgwood, Laurelhurst, Capitol Hill, Central District and surrounding Seattle neighborhoods. Apartment floors, elevators, loading zones and parking limits matter here.
Eastside
Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Mercer Island, Issaquah, Sammamish, Woodinville and the east side of Bothell. Include gated access, steep driveways, garages, townhomes, condo loading rules and appliance location.
South King County
Renton, Tukwila, Burien, SeaTac, Kent, Des Moines, Federal Way, Auburn, Covington and Maple Valley. Complete photos and exact access details help match the request to a practical route.
Tacoma & Pierce County
Tacoma, University Place, Fircrest, Lakewood, Puyallup, Sumner, Bonney Lake, Gig Harbor, Spanaway and Parkland. Basement laundry rooms, hills, narrow side yards and long carries should be disclosed before acceptance.
Olympia & Thurston County
Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater and nearby Thurston County communities are part of the south-end coverage review. Longer-route requests should include appliance condition, photos, exact access and flexible timing.
Coverage is request-based. A city or neighborhood listed here is eligible for review, not a promise that a truck is stationed there or that every appliance qualifies for free pickup.
Metro Access Details Matter
Seattle & dense neighborhoods
Tell us about apartment floors, elevators, loading zones, parking restrictions, stairs, basement access and narrow halls before scheduling.
Eastside & suburban routes
For Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Issaquah and nearby communities, include gated access, garages, driveway conditions and appliance location.
South & North Sound
Lynnwood, Everett, Federal Way, Tacoma, Puyallup, Olympia and longer-route requests benefit from complete photos, working-condition details and flexible scheduling.
Seattle and Tacoma Have Different Official Appliance Disposal Options
The partner network is focused first on reusable major appliances. If a request does not qualify, the correct municipal alternative depends on the actual city; Seattle and Tacoma do not use the same program.
Seattle: SPU Special Item Pickup
Seattle Public Utilities lists large appliances in its Special Item Pickup program for eligible utility customers. The utility account holder authorizes current item charges, and renters or multifamily residents may need the property manager or owner to schedule. SPU's annual free battery and Special Item Box offer is separate from the standard large-appliance category.

Tacoma: Call-2-Haul
The City of Tacoma says residential Solid Waste customers can schedule two curbside Call-2-Haul pickups or self-hauls per year, with appliances among the accepted large-item categories. The current residential service is built into Solid Waste rates; multifamily and commercial customers have separate fee rules.

These municipal programs are separate from Free Reliable Appliance Pickup. Verify current eligibility, charges, item limits and setout rules with the city program before using it.
What Usually Qualifies?
Fully working major appliances may qualify for free pickup. Mixed loads may qualify when approximately 80% of major appliances are working. Minor repair needs may be considered. A nonworking appliance alone generally does not qualify.
Appliances We Review
Washers and dryers are priority categories. We also review refrigerators, freezers, stoves, ranges and ovens. For washers, include fill/drain/spin status; for dryers, heat/tumble and gas or electric; for refrigerators and freezers, include cooling status plus interior and exterior photos.
Request Details for Puget Sound Routes
Send the exact city and ZIP code rather than only “Seattle area.” Route timing can differ across Seattle, the Eastside, South King County, Pierce County and Snohomish County. Include every appliance in the load and describe which units are fully working, need minor repair or do not work.
Cooling appliances
For refrigerators and freezers, confirm whether the unit is currently plugged in and holding temperature. Include interior photos, exterior photos, approximate dimensions and missing shelf or drawer information.
Laundry appliances
For washers, report fill, wash, drain and spin performance. For dryers, report tumble and heat and identify gas or electric. Note stacked or compact installations.
Ranges and ovens
Identify gas or electric service and describe burner, oven, control-panel or glass-top problems. Mention built-in installation or hardwired connections before review.
Seattle, Eastside and South Sound Access
Dense neighborhoods and multi-unit properties may require loading reservations, elevator scheduling, parking permits or property-manager approval. Tell us about stairs, narrow halls, door removal, gated garages and the distance between the appliance and legal truck parking.
For Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Issaquah, Renton, Kent, Federal Way, Auburn, Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater, include gated-community rules, steep driveways and garage or basement placement. Lynnwood, Edmonds, Shoreline, Everett, Mukilteo and other North Sound requests should include flexible timing when longer routing is required.
Before Pickup Is Confirmed
Do not disconnect a working cooling appliance, leave equipment at a curb or schedule building access until the team confirms qualification and availability. Photos and complete testing details help determine whether free pickup may be offered.
If the request includes several appliances, the approximately 80% working guideline is evaluated across the major-appliance load. Standalone microwaves are not accepted, and a dishwasher is considered only with two or more major working appliances.
Washington Intake Contact
Puget Sound requests use the Washington intake line at 503-868-4455. Service hours are 8:00 AM–8:00 PM daily. This number begins a request and partner-coverage review; it is not presented as a Seattle or Tacoma branch phone. Free pickup is confirmed only after the request qualifies and an available local pickup partner accepts it.

Washer & Dryer Pickup in Seattle, Tacoma & Puget Sound
Washer-only, dryer-only and laundry-set requests now have a dedicated regional page for Seattle, Tacoma and surrounding Puget Sound communities. It focuses on tested washer functions, dryer heat/tumble, stacked installations, apartments, stairs, elevators and loading access.
Seattle–Tacoma Local Appliance Reuse Network
Puget Sound requests are reviewed through a local-network model. Depending on appliance condition, exact ZIP code, access and current capacity, a qualifying request may fit an independent local appliance buyer, reseller, repair/refurbishment business or pickup operator in the partner network.
This is especially useful for working refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers and ranges that may still have reuse or resale value. The goal is to match the appliance with a realistic local second-life path when one is available.
