Modesto operates a City bulky-item collection program for residential solid-waste customers. The program is different from our reuse-focused pickup because it is intended for large household items that need disposal rather than continued use.
Two Pickups Per Calendar Year
The City states that each eligible residential garbage-service customer may receive two bulky-item pickups per calendar year.
Hauler Appointment Required
Residents schedule directly with their assigned garbage hauler. Modesto currently identifies Gilton Solid Waste and Bertolotti Disposal for bulky-item appointments.
Curbside Placement Rules
The City requires bulky items to be placed in the street against the curb at the resident's own address and says not to place items out until the evening before the scheduled appointment.
