California Appliance Recycling & Disposal Resources

Use this guide when an appliance does not fit a reuse-focused free-pickup route, or when you want to compare official recycling, utility and local waste options.

Start With Reuse When the Appliance Still Works

A working or reusable refrigerator, washer, dryer, freezer or stove may still have useful life. Our first option is to review it for qualification-based pickup rather than sending a usable appliance directly to disposal.

Free pickup is not automatic. Condition, exact address, removal access, local demand and current route availability are reviewed first.
