Free Appliance Pickup in San Clemente: What Qualifies
Use this page for major-appliance pickup and removal requests at a San Clemente address. Qualifying working or reusable refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, ranges and ovens may receive free pickup after condition, exact location, removal access, local demand and current route availability are reviewed.
Fully working appliances are the strongest candidates. A mixed load may qualify when roughly 80% of the major appliances work. A single completely nonworking appliance generally does not qualify for our reuse-focused free route.
For a washer, dryer or complete laundry set only, use the San Clemente washer & dryer pickup page. For a refrigerator, freezer, stove, range, oven or mixed major-appliance load, continue here.
How San Clemente Appliance Pickup Works
1. Send appliance details
Tell us the appliance type, tested working condition and exact pickup address. Photos help confirm size, condition and whether the unit is a good reuse candidate.
2. Describe access
Include garage or interior location, stairs, elevators, gated entry, HOA rules, narrow doors, parking restrictions or a long carry to the loading area.
3. Confirm the route
We review condition, access, local demand and current South Orange County availability. Pickup is scheduled only after the request is accepted.

Major Appliances We Review in San Clemente
Refrigerators & Freezers
Tell us whether the unit is plugged in and holding temperature. Include exterior/interior photos and note missing shelves, drawers, seals or damage.
Washers & Dryers
Describe whether the washer fills, drains and spins and whether the dryer tumbles and heats. Complete working sets receive strong reuse priority.
Stoves, Ranges & Ovens
State whether the appliance is gas or electric and whether burners, oven functions and controls work. Appliances must be safely disconnected before pickup.
Multiple Appliances
For move-outs, rental turnovers or several replacements, list each appliance and condition. Mixed loads are reviewed as a complete group.
Limits: microwaves are not accepted alone. Dishwashers are considered only with two or more major working appliances. A repair-needed appliance should be described accurately.
San Clemente Coastal, HOA & Multi-Unit Access
San Clemente requests can involve hillside streets, condos, gated communities, garages below or above living areas and properties with limited loading space. The exact removal path matters when a refrigerator, range or laundry machine must move through stairs, elevators, narrow turns or shared hallways.
For HOA or managed properties, include entry procedures and loading restrictions before scheduling. For interior pickup, send a photo of stairs, doorways or tight turns. If the appliance is already in a garage, say whether it is disconnected and whether a pickup vehicle can approach the loading point.
Nearby service connections include Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel and the South Orange County hub.
Property Managers & Multi-Appliance Pickup
Landlords, apartment and condo operators, senior and 55+ communities, hotels, installers, remodelers and property teams can submit one-time or recurring appliance replacement work. Include item count, tested condition, unit or floor, stairs/elevator, loading access and an onsite contact.

San Clemente Bulky-Item & White-Goods Alternative
If an appliance does not qualify for our reuse-focused route, the City of San Clemente's solid-waste guide describes a separate CR&R bulky-item service. The current guide states that residential customers receive four bulky-item pickups free of charge per calendar year.
The same guide treats household appliances containing refrigerant as white goods and says CR&R collects bulky items and white goods from the curbside. Refrigerators require special handling because of refrigerant and other chemicals. Confirm current scheduling and preparation rules directly before placing an appliance outside.

San Clemente Appliance Removal FAQ
Is appliance pickup automatically free in San Clemente?
No. Free pickup is qualification-based. We review condition, exact address, safe access, local demand and route availability before confirming service.
Can one working appliance qualify?
Yes. One working refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer, stove, range or oven can be submitted for review.
Can you remove an appliance from a condo or upstairs unit?
Those requests can be reviewed. Include floor level, stairs or elevator, hallway/door clearance, parking/loading rules and any HOA or building-access requirements.
What if the appliance is broken?
A single completely nonworking appliance generally does not qualify for our free reuse-focused route. The City/CR&R bulky-item and white-goods option above may be a better fit for end-of-life units.
Do you handle several appliances from a property turnover?
Yes. List every appliance and condition together so the complete load can be reviewed efficiently.
