Eugene Appliance Pickup, Removal & Recycling Review
This is the Eugene-specific page for general major-appliance pickup requests. We review qualifying refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, stoves, ranges, ovens and mixed household appliance loads using the actual pickup address, appliance condition and removal access.
Free pickup is not automatic. Fully working major appliances may qualify, and mixed loads may qualify when approximately 80% of the major appliances work. A single nonworking appliance generally does not qualify for free pickup.
Best request: send clear appliance photos, tested working condition, exact Eugene address or ZIP code, floor level, stairs, gates, parking or loading limits and carrying distance.
Eugene Pickup for All Major Appliance Types
Refrigerators & Freezers
Tell us whether each compartment maintains temperature. Include exterior, interior and model-label photos when practical.
Washers & Dryers
For washers, report fill, wash, drain and spin. For dryers, identify gas or electric and whether the drum turns and heats.
Stoves, Ranges & Ovens
State whether burners, controls and oven functions work and whether the appliance is gas or electric.
Multiple Appliances
List each appliance and condition separately so the full load can be reviewed accurately.
Eugene Neighborhood & Property Access Review
Eugene's official neighborhood system includes areas such as Active Bethel, River Road, Santa Clara, Friendly, Downtown, South University, Whiteaker, Harlow, Churchill, Cal Young and West Eugene. Pickup conditions can differ substantially between older houses, apartments, student housing, garages, hillside streets and newer development.
For an interior appliance, include doorways, tight turns and stairs. For apartments or managed properties, include elevator, loading-zone and parking details. For garage or driveway pickups, tell us how close the vehicle can safely get to the appliance.
Photos & Working Tests Help Eugene Route Review
Working-condition details are more useful than a generic statement that an appliance is "good." For a washer, report fill, drain and spin. For a dryer, report tumble and heat. For a refrigerator or freezer, say whether it is currently plugged in and holding temperature.
Send one clear full photo plus interior photos for cooling appliances when practical. If there is rust, a cracked shelf, cosmetic damage or a known repair issue, show or describe it accurately so the request can be reviewed before a route is scheduled.
Qualification Limits
Microwaves are accepted only with another qualifying major appliance. Dishwashers are reviewed only with two or more major working appliances. Minor-repair appliances may be submitted honestly for review, but acceptance depends on current demand and route capacity.
Submitting a request starts the review process. It does not guarantee free pickup or a specific pickup time until condition, location, access and route availability are confirmed.
Lane County Appliance Disposal Alternative
If an appliance does not qualify for our reuse-focused pickup, Lane County Waste Management publishes current appliance recycling and disposal options. County guidance says appliances are accepted at most Lane County transfer sites, with a separate appliance fee for refrigerant-containing units such as refrigerators and freezers. Lane County also recommends reuse for newer appliances when practical.
That public disposal path is separate from Free Reliable Appliance Pickup. Check Lane County's current fees, preparation rules and site availability before transporting an appliance.
