Gilbert Appliances Do Not Go With Regular Bulk Trash
Gilbert's municipal rules create a different decision path from Mesa and Chandler. The Town of Gilbert says large appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters and air conditioners are not accepted in the normal bulk-trash pile. Instead, residents can schedule a separate appliance pickup. Gilbert currently limits that scheduled service to two appliances per collection.
The town lists one trip fee when the appliance pickup is scheduled during the resident's regular bulk-trash week and a higher trip fee when it is requested outside that week. Appliances must be placed at the curb as directed, and refrigerators or freezers should be emptied and odor-free. Gilbert's normal bulk collection runs on a repeating schedule, so timing can materially change which municipal option is available and what it costs.
For a working appliance, our review is different: we are evaluating reuse potential, condition and route availability—not charging a municipal disposal trip fee. A clean working laundry set, cooling appliance or range with good photos can be much more useful to submit before arranging disposal. If it does not qualify, Gilbert's official appliance-pickup program remains the local alternative.

Free Pickup Qualification
Fully working major appliances may qualify. Mixed loads may qualify when approximately 80% of the major appliances work. Minor repair needs may be considered. A single nonworking appliance generally does not qualify.
