Washer: fill, agitate, drain and spin. Dryer: tumble and heat. Tell us gas or electric and whether it is a complete set.

Free Pickup Qualification
Fully working major appliances may qualify. Mixed loads may qualify when approximately 80% of the major appliances work. Minor repair needs may be considered. A single nonworking appliance generally does not qualify.
Microwaves are accepted only with another qualifying major appliance. Dishwashers are considered only with two or more major working appliances.

Carefree Appliance Disposal Alternative if Free Pickup Does Not Qualify
The Town of Carefree identifies the Maricopa County transfer station at 3955 E. Carefree Highway in Cave Creek as a disposal resource used by some Carefree residents. A 2026 transfer-station fee sheet lists large appliances and washers/dryers among accepted large items and gives separate requirements for refrigerators and air conditioners. Because transfer-station operations can change, verify current status, hours, fees and refrigerant rules before travel.
